The YAMAHA R6 is a motorcycle category of superbike from the Japanese manufacturer Yamaha and is the 600 cc model in the Yamaha YZF R-series . YAMAHA R6 came in 1999 under the type designation as successor to the RJ031 YZF600R Thundercat on the market. The R6 was visually a likeness of a year earlier presented YAMAHA R1
YAMAHA R6 Model history
The engine was a complete redesign of the R6. Among the innovations were forged, for example, low-friction pistons, coated rods , the five-bearing crankshaft, the spark plug with integrated ignition coils, spark plugs with dual electrodes and the downdraft carburetors with 37 mm diameter culverts, flat slides and throttle sensor. 2002 year model
The R6 is completely revised. More than 90% of the engine components were changed, most important modification is the 38 mm multi-point fuel injection , the gasification technology replaces. The new engine developed 120 hp at nominally still 13,000 now. What was new, however, that already from 4000 rpm, there was significantly more power. Chassis side, the R6 received a new aluminum die-cast frame and lighter 5-spoke rims. Moreover, were 4.5 kg lighter than its predecessor, the new R6 and thus weighed only 189 kg fully fueled.
2005 year model
The R6 type RJ095 a final revision.
